Bring on the margaritas, because Cinco de Mayo falls on a Saturday! If you decided last minute to host a party, or are looking for more ideas…I have super easy tips to bring the wow factor and save you time!
#1 Party Time/Food
To avoid planning a full dinner menu, choose a party start time between 7-8. Guests have already eaten dinner by this time, so only snacks are needed. Tortilla chips, salsa and guacamole are some of my favorites. Pro tip: Short on time to prep food? Transfer store bought items to your own serving platters.
#2 Drinks
For this party, I chose margaritas…of course! Instead of playing bartender all night, make a batch ahead of time so guests can serve themselves as needed. I decided to salt, pour and add a lime to some glasses so guests could easily enjoy a cocktail once they arrived. I stocked my bar cart extra glasses, salt and limes to make your own if you aren’t a fan of salt or a lime!
#3 Decor
Pro tip: Don’t stress about decor, use what you already have! Fruit and plants are some of my favorite items to use. I used a succulent and bromeliad plant to add a natural feel to this party. I also took advantage of the fresh limes I needed which doubled as decor for the bar cart. Balloons are also on my must-have list, like this jumbo cactus and mini balloons.
Cheers!
