The end of summer is nearing. Stores are in that awkward stage of stocking summer, Halloween and fall items. If you are wondering what theme to go with for this time of year, I suggest citrus!

A citrus theme/color combination is perfect for the transition into fall. It is also great for early fall celebrations.

How gorgeous is the centerpiece?! It is so simple, yet eye-catching. Would you believe me if I told you it only cost me $6.26 to make? Well, it’s true! Head to your local Trader Joe’s and pick up:
– 1 bunch of eucalyptus $2.99
– 2 navel oranges $0.89 each
– 1 grapefruit $1.49
And that’s it! Prices may vary per location.

Simply lay the eucalyptus down the center of your table. Cut oranges and grapefruit in half and arrange.

I kept each place setting simple so the fruit would really pop. For each place setting, I used a white dinner plate, white linen napkin, DIY lemon vase (tutorial here), silver flatware and a champagne flute.

When live gives you lemons, make mini vases! 😉 Happy entertaining!
