Streamer backdrops are so trendy now! They seem to be popping up all over Pinterest and Instagram! There’s just something I love about them. During my weekly Target run, I saw tablecloths and thought it would be fun to create a DIY! With the Fourth of July being next week, I decided to go with a red, white and blue theme.
Supplies needed:
- Tablecloths
- String/twine for assembly
- Scissors
*3 tablecloths (one of each color) is approximately 2ft. Using all 6 tablecloths will be about 4ft once completed*
I purchased 3 different colors of tablecloths (each pack has 2) from Target for $3 per pack.
Step 1:
Remove the tablecloths from the packaging. Unfold the tablecloth twice and begin cutting 1-2 inch strips lengthwise from the folded (smooth edge side).
Step 2:
Continue cutting each color until you have a ton of strips.
Step 3:
Measure your twine or string to the desired length (mine is 4ft). Take one strip lengthwise and place your string over it.
*I hung mine on the wall while assembling, makes it easier!*
Step 4:
Pull the bottom of the strip through the loop creating a knot. Be sure to pull it tight.
*If you ever made a tutu before, it is basically the same process!*
Step 5:
Continue this process until the length of your string is filled. Keep in mind this backdrop can be pretty heavy! I used command hooks to hang mine.
Tada! Your tablecloth streamer backdrop is complete. I loved the choppy look on the ends of the streamers, but you can always cut them to make it even or to add more layers!
This is super fun and affordable party decoration. I look forward to making more in different lengths and colors. Let me know if you have any questions or if you make one yourself!
xxo,
Lauren
